The Boat
The Birds and Boards fishing vessel at this moment in time is a 18ft 2020 Carolina Skiff JLS powered with a 115hp Suzuki. This is the first year of the JLS model and it isn’t like your flat bottom skiff, it has a really nice V that allows it to cut through chop beautifully while still being able to get into some nice backwater spots. I have added a Minn Kota Terrova trolling motor with spot-lock and a great fish finder with side scan to make the fish a little easier to find. I run this boat offshore whenever I can up to 10-15 miles by myself and hoping to upgrade to a bigger boat in the future with more fishability so I can be able to offer those trips and take more guests.
